Bronko Lawbringer Shroud Raid Defeated
2/21/2008 3:59:21 PM

2008-Feb-21

It's been a long time since I was able to boast about a significant accomplishment, but tonight (actually early this morning) we defeated the Shroud raid for the first time and on my first attempt ever.

I would extend a big congratulations to Vesuvia who made the first final raid-loot upgrade of anyone in the guild and who also lead us expertly through the whole thing.  Vesuvia had a game plan that worked and although it was resource intensive (i.e. we drank a ton of mana potions and chewed through two tons of healing scrolls) in the end we were victorious.

We ran this raid on the spur of the moment with fellow guildies Vesuvia, Magadon, Exsivia, and Tarman.  Other mentionable names include my good friends Purplejade and Whyte (who both did an awesome job of healing) and Withteeth from Sanctus Armata (can't imagine a first-time raid run without a least one Sanctus member on the team ).

I ran this raid with my cleric Broncoh instead of the 'Big Guy' himself.  Normally I would never do that (Bronko always gets first crack at new content) but Vesuvia needed another cleric and I can't say no to a guildie.  Also, we ended up having an 11-man team for that VERY long end fight as Tarman DCed shortly after we started and never came back.  Poor bugger.

This was a fun run, and although all of my loot (including the end reward) was crap it was satisfying to see several guildies in the run with me.  That was pretty much the only reason I allowed myself to burn through as many resources as I did (no PUG in the world would be worthy of it).  On a personal congratulatory note I'd like to say that it was real test of my clericing abilities and I thought I played my best game ever.  I didn't die once and I was a freaking MACHINE keeping multiple targets alive with no spell points left.

*pats himself on the back*

Istâ Alt Time
1/17/2008 7:54:10 AM

Will be playing alts more often in the near future solely in instances, prolly PUGing often.  Kevi and I will continue to set up runs for all levels and I'll be participating in them with an appropriate level toon.  I'm bored outta my mind playing Ista solo, so the winds of change are upon me.

Unless there's something specific i.e. promotions, demotions, disenchants, vault management etc...see one of my many alts...for now.

Ah, yes.  And so the beginning.  But is it really the beginning?  No.  Level 59 and my first entry.  But every journey must start with a step.

And what is it that are my immediate goals for the moment?  Simply to level, without the worry or distractions of quests.  And so to level by grinding solely.  Sound boring?  No more boring than leveling to 70 solo, without groups.  Only I am a mule.  A mule? what say you?  Yes, one so cute as this little gnome to be used exclusively for the profit of others.

But then ask yourself, isn't that the reason all of us exist?  You were born out of the egotism of your parents were you not?  Oh, you could say it was love...but apart from the smoke you may be blowing up your own..er..never mind...it was greediness for one to have what THEY want...a child.  We all want what we want, do we not?  And most times it takes others to get that.  Whether they know it or not does not really matter in the long run, now does it?

And so welcome to Fab's world.  Chaos Magick encompasses more than just mere Magick.  And Chaos...can be a wonderful thing.

Istâ Outland Instance Runs
12/22/2007 5:51:09 AM

I've finally crafted my Spellfire Robe.  It took forever and was boring as hell.  Most other epics are more rep & mote grinding, of which I do not want to do again if I can avoid it.

In the recruitment phase we've obtained a few more higher levels and most are sticking around.  Hopefully that means I'm not doing such a bad job...we'll see.   I'll still be looking for healers as well since currently we're lacking.

My next goal will be to begin scheduling Outland Dungeon Runs very soon, probably after the 1st of the year.  Hopefully peeps will be willing to participate in the runs.  There's a lof of nice gear I'd like to obtain and really there's no other way to get it.

As of right now, members still aren't showing much desire to group.  I'll continue to schedule runs according to requests, but truthfully, I haven't had one member approach me yet with one.  Every run you see scheduled on the calendar was an attempt to get peeps involved.  Web participation is lacking too.  Joesie and Blamlik are the only two who may have a possibility to be promoted to Dragon Knight atm.  I'll hold that position for the serious gamers and those who really do want to be involved.  Even so they'll still need to put in the time for the points.

Istâ 375 Tailoring...finally.
12/8/2007 5:36:52 AM

375 Tailoring...finally.  Now to begin gathering mats for 20 slots, epic recipes, etc.  I started to calculate the amount of time I would need just to gather enough mats for my epic spellfire robe.  It made me depressed so I stopped.  I guess that's why they call them epics...cause they're such a pain in the ass to obtain, most ppl don't wanna mess with the boredom of grinding the mats.

Istâ New Phase
12/5/2007 4:22:14 AM

Well a new phase has started within the guild.  No longer will I be concentrating on sporadic recruiting, and when I do recruit, it will be very specific ppl.  Not many members have invited others, although all have they ability to do so.

This phase will entail researching and organizing guild events.  All my work will primarily be done on the website.  When I log in it will be to execute the event if I'm involved in it.  So far only one other member has requested any specific dungeon run.  Participation is lacking.

Inactive members have been demoted to Squire and the Squire Vote System will now be initiated.  I'll keep all members for stats, but as an inactive member, you have not earned the right to be a true member.  And now members must vote you in to be eligible for Vault privileges.

I have also put out in guild chat and on the web two officer positions which need filled.  No takers as of yet.  There are a few I have in mind who may be able to fit the bill, but I still want to give everyone a chance to step forward.  I would rather have someone who wants the job than to promote someone who doesn't care.  The post has been up for over two weeks with no response.

This next phase's performance will determine my next possible drastic course of action.
