Gang,

Its that time again.  The ZA runs have been getting a bit frustrating because of the outdated teams.  Im going to be redrafting ZA teams for September.  ZA runs are scheduled on Monday nights only @ 6PM server.  If you are available to run and would like to be on a team, please send INGAME mail to Damelion.  New teams will be created this week and posted in time for the run on Sept 8th.   Thanks.

A couple weeks ago we were kinda floating with no real sense of what we were doing.   I posted that we were going to start hitting ssc hard, and move to three nights/week, and that was met with more enthusiasm than I expected...which was awesome.  But what was even more awesome and less expceted was the amount of quick success that dedication would bring....in no time flat we killed Tidewalker (oneshot after a couple months since our last attempt and a first for many that were there), Leo, and FLK.   I gotta tell ya I've been on a progression high since this weekend, I think what we've accomplished thus far has been really amazing.

I'll take a second now to talk about our raid schedule.  I know its alot.  We have five out of seven days with something scheduled, and more often than not we end up doing something on the other two days as well.  For me its not a problem, I love hanging out with you guys wether its with alot of us kicking butt in SSC, or a few of us together gearing up people in kara, or running ZA (failing miserably or blowing through, its all fun).  For some people its probably too much, totally understandable.  I dont want anyone to feel pressured to raid if they dont want to.  Our focus right now is on whatever we happen to be doing on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, so if you are the type that needs a break from raiding, please dont feel pressured to raid on the other nights of the week at all.  Really, dont feel pressured to raid on the weekend either, but that leads me into my next paragraph.

The officers and I met up last night and we had a tough decision to make, what do we do next?   There are obviously a few different ways we can go, and the upcoming expansion puts a different light on everything, not just raiding.  Alot of guilds are, or will soon be, opting to skip Vashj, its a tough fight, and according to some one of the toughest blizz has offered thus far outside of Sunwell.  Well, Solstice isn't going to be one of those guilds.  We started SSC, and if we do nothing else before the expansion comes out, I want to be able to say we finished it.   Vashj is going to test not only our gear and skill, but also our patience, resolve, and even probably our relationships with each other.   To defeat her will require an amount of teamwork that has not yet been asked of us.   I know we can do this.  I've seen this guild do so many amazing things and overcome so many obstacles in the past year and a half, and many of those things have nothing to do with raiding.

Some of you may have heard me say it before, but when I get frustrated, I think back about some of the milestones this guild has accomplished.  I still remember clearly the first time we had over 10 members online at once, the first time we successfully ran Uldaman as a guild, even the first time we went into a lvl 70 instance as a full guild grp (SL was tough).  Theres been a ton of others, but sometime in the future, the time we killed Vashj is going to be one that sticks out as well.

If you are still reading this, you are either a.sufficiently motivated, or b.sufficiently bored, so heres what you can do to help:

1. Come to all raids prepared.  Flasks, pots (mana and health for everyone), buff foods, weapon enhancements, reagents, bandages ect.  If everyone in the raid is fully flasked/buffed, our results will be amplified greatly.
2. Have the necessary add-ons installed and ready to go.  Vent, Deadly Boss Mods, updated Omen, and PALLY POWER.
3. Read up on the fights.  Watch some videos.  Have some idea of what mess we are getting ourselves into.
4. If you are online on a raid night, please be willing to help out by making yourself available.  This my sound contradictory to what I said above, but Im going to ask anyway.  Be on your main, so the raid leader knows you are around.  It doesnt happen often, but its very frustrating when I am doing invites and find that people are pugging ZA or doing Kara or some heroic on their alts.
5. Address all QQ about pally buffs in whisper (not over vent) only to Lheaf or Jenali.  They typically are not doing anything and will be more than happy to help you out.
6. Keep an eye on the "Raid Statistics" link on the top left.  I analyze every raid we do so I know what each of you are capable of.  If you see someone that consistently out performs you, ask them for advice.  Remember that raid invites go out based off these stats, so if you want to raid it will be good if you look at them.

Heres a progression kill I forgot to post.   Enjoy.  Nice Terokk's Quill Baail!!

Hey all....

So i met up with the officers last night, and we decided that we really want to push through SSC, and clear it.  In order for us to do this, we are going to have to dedicate three days/week to the instance, which of course requires us to move some things around.  So, both ZA teams are going to run on monday, kara teams on tuesday, and then SSC at the end of the week.   This leaves us with Sunday and Wed to do whatever or nothing.  We've had some good success in Hyjal, but I think that in order for us to progess much further we have to pick something and conquer it.  So for now, that will be SSC since we've already invested so much in it.  After that, we may skip TK, or we may do it, im not sure.  Feel free to let me know your thoughs on what we should do next, but for now put your game face on cause we are going to clear out SSC.
