Welcome to Premature Evacuation!
Premature Evacuation is a small, social World of Warcraft guild based on the Oceanic server Aman'Thul.
The guild has no set goal or purpose but is mainly a social guild where you can relax, enjoy the game in a no-pressure environment. We will organise instance runs, fun activities, PvP Events etc once our numbers grow. You are encouraged to participate in these activities but are by no means expected to. This is your game, you do what you want!
Premature Evacuation is operated by Severn and Emilyn. If you have any questions or comments regarding the guild or this site, send an in-game mail to Severn or Emilyn.
Remember, this is YOUR guild. Join in the chat and have a good time. | | |
WANTED: One Guild Marshal
Greetings,
It is my intention to appoint an additional Marshal (guild officer), within the next couple of weeks. This is preemptive of a recruitment drive that is planned for June/July. Due to our somewhat limited roster, the choices are few, so anyone is in the running.
The new Marshal will need to be active in the Guild, enthusiastic about the Guild and should know all Guild Policy pretty much back to front. If you want to bone up on your Guild policies, they can all be found here on the website in the forums section. Though they may need updating, I will get onto that in the next few days.
Additional qualities we're looking for are: someone who is friendly and amiable, approachable and available, humble and diplomatic. What we DON'T want is: power-tripping, ego's, know-allism and negativity.
I am not taking into consideration things like age, how long a person has been with the guild or gender. A decision will be made based on how the candidate represents the Guild. That said, it'd be nice if there was no negativity about who gets the role and who doesn't. I don't really want to hear things like "Why did you make X an officer? I've been with the Guild for Y months"...Those sorts of comments aren't constructive and won't change the outcome, as the selection isn't going to be made based on how long a person has been a member etc.. Just a heads up.
When the time comes, I will take the candidate aside in private and offer him/her the role, based on my observsations. It is completely optional, and you don't have to accept, in which case someone else will be offered the role.
Cheers,
- Joey

Greetings all,
Some of you may not have even noticed but I've been away for a week. We've had a bit of a family tragedy, of which I don't really want to get into suffice to say that my sister Georgina, and I have lost our father from illness. I would appreciate very much some patience and understanding during these difficult times, there may be some days when I just can't face people and want to be left alone, I hope you all can respect my space in those circumstances and just bear with me. If there's one thing this has taught me, it's to value and not take for granted your family and friends...don't leave it until it's too late to say "I love you" to those that mean the world to you.

PS - We love you Dad, you will be missed.
Have Blizzard Been Listening?
Oh my god.
Rolling restarts and maintenance scheduled for our off-peak time? What has gotten into them??
It's about time. People have been complaining to Blizzard for the two years I've been playing, to get our maintenance during our off peak time and they never listened before. Maybe it wasn't possible, I don't know, but it seems now Blizz have gotten their fingers out of their collective hiney's and have given us Oceanic server users something we've been asking for - for a very long time. Maintenance and restarts out of peak times. Amazing isn't it?
What's next, nerf Hunters and fix Mages so their DPS scales properly like everyone else? HAH! Let's not get carried away.
Thanks Blizz, you're slowly getting back onto my good side.

PS - While you're at it, if you could fix Engineering, I'd really appreciate it. K? Cheers.
What's Happening To Our Guild?
Premature Evacuation was founded as a result of a guild gone bad.
I wanted to take the lessons I learnt from watching my previous guild masters make mistake after mistake and the other contributing factors that resulted in the gradual decline, and eventual collapse of my previous guild.
The same things are starting to happen here. I have done everything I can to make Premature Evacuation a friendly and happy environment for it's members, it's up to the members to support the guild and be respectful at all times to their guild-mates. Over the last two months or so, I have been witness to an unmistakable decline in many areas.
I am not blaming anyone specifically for this, rather I think we all have a hand in it. I'm talking about how we've become boasters, braggarts, bullshi**ers, know-alls, and in some cases arrogant and egotistical. The general consensus seems to be that this kind of 'behaviour' for lack of a better term annoys the living crap out of most people, so if you're guilty of it...and do think hard about this...I implore you for the sake of all members to keep your ego from joining Gchat when you do. It's unacceptable and will not be tolerated further, regardless of who you are and who you know in the guild.
Some people will disagree with the hard line I'm taking on this, may even be offended. I'm sorry if that is the case, you don't have to agree with it - but you do have to comply with it if you wish to remain a member. If you feel you can't comply, you are always free to leave.
This Guild is my baby, and I work hard on it most days, seeing it go down the same path my old guild did is simply unacceptable to me.
I'm not asking for much, just respect each other. Don't bullcrap, don't go on about how great you are, don't always be the first to correct someone, argue with each other in private rather than Gchat, dont complain about every tiny little thing that you perceive as wrong and sometimes, just sometimes...help each other even IF there's nothing in it for you.
If the current trend continues, the Guild will be disbanded.
Sincerely,
- Joey
Guild Marshal.
Happy Anniversary Premature Evacuation!
Six months ago, Premature Evacuation was created with specific goals in mind. We wanted a place for mates to hang out and talk crap, we wanted somewhere we could all relax and be ourselves, we wanted a place where there'd be no pressure to gear up and we didn't have to play according to what someone else wanted. We pay for the game, we play it how we want.
I believe we have achieved those goals admirably.
I would like to extend a huge thank you to all our members, for making Premature Evacuation the great guild it is today. Though we are a small guild, and don't have a huge roster, I believe it's better that way (wtb tanks and healers though) otherwise, we'd lose touch with what we originally set out to achieve. So, happy anniversary Premature Evacuation and here's to another 6 months of awesomeness.

Greetings all!
Some concerns have been raised, and indeed I have witnessed a thing or two in Gchat that has prompted me to write this article. I am not one to police what people say, I don't think I have a right to do that, but I draw the line at comments that are racist, homophobic or otherwised directed at minority groups in a negative manner. To me, such comments are repugnant and have no place in Premature Evacuation, and indeed are prohibited in Gchat as per the Code of Conduct.
Maybe no harm is meant and thats fine, but people can still take offence - and it's my job to try to keep everyone happy. So, I implore all members to refrain from making any comments which can be construed as racist or bigotted. You have a right to think whatever you want, and to believe whatever you want, but please just keep any thoughts like that to yourself.
Understand too, I am not pointing fingers or laying blame on anyone specifically, rather I'm just reminding everyone that those kind of comments are unacceptable in Gchat, and that indeed goes for me and Emi as well, as the Guild's Officers.
By all means get as crude or rude as you want, that's fine, but please just excercise some common sense and respect the beliefs and feelings of your fellow members.
Thanks,
- Joey

It's Donation Time Again!
Greetings!
I would like to ask all Guild Members to think about giving generously (or tight-assedly, up to you) to the Guild's Vault once more.
What we really need in there are some more weapons and armour of all levels and types. So, if any of you could chuck a greeny or two in there at some point soon, the Guild would appreciate it greatly. Lately, there have been quite a number of people requesting items from the bank, and this is great - it's what it's there for, and I do hope people will continue to use this resource, as it is yours to use. However, you don't need me to tell you all that it only holds a limited number of items and does need to be replenished occasionally, and that cannot happen without the generosity of individual Guildies. So please, dig deep into your packs and think about donating a weapon or a piece of armour.
To that end, I'd also like to ask people to RESIST the temptation, if you can, of putting something straight into the Guild Bank. I know, it's convenient and easy, but that's not the case for me. I would appreciate it immensely if you could send any item you wish to donate to Rianie (with a covering note, saying it's to be donated, so I dont think you're just giving me free goodies and sell it :D). This may seem pointless to you, but the reasons I ask you to do this are 1) It helps me greatly with the Guild's 'record keeping' - oh aye, I record everything for prosperity, so to speak and 2) It allows me to cast my beady eye over it before it goes in the bank. If you would assist me in this manner, I would be most grateful.
Cheers,
- Joey

A Word On Using The Guild Bank:
Greetings Guildies,
The time has come again, to put a call out for item donations for the guild bank. Weapons and armour are what's really needed, and generally anything above level 15 will be fine - so if you get any weapons or armour that you dont want to sell, or if you're just feeling generous, please - stick it in the Guild Vault.
On that note, I would like to just remind people on what we want in there and what we don't want in there. Remember, it's for desirable goods that people would actually want to use and not a repository for crap. (Trust me, you shoulda seen some of the stuff that was in there, it wasn't pretty =\)
Grey items of ANY kind are useless, you should vendor those.
Any cloth (including bolts) below Mageweave is common, and easily obtained in the game world. However the Bank will gladly accept any Mageweave, Runecloth and Netherweave cloth you care to give it.
No consumables, please. Again, easily obtained through the game world, and they just take up so much damn space. And since the bank tab cost 350 bucks, it's space needs to be regulated so we dont have to spend 5 or 6 hundred gold on another tab. This includes potions, armour kits and the like.
Thats about all I can think of for now, but if I remember anything else, I'll edit this article. The guild of course, thanks you for your generosity - there have been some really awesome donations in the past. But in depositing to the guild bank, we do ask you to excercise common sense - space is a valuable commodity. Ask yourself if the item in question would be desirable to you under the appropriate circumstances.
Cheers,
- Sev
