Guild Type: Casual, Mature, Lite RP (no thee or thou required)
Faction: Alliance     Server: Gilneas
Recruiting status: Inactive (tired of being used and stabbed in the back)
Voice Requirement: We have a TeamSpeak server set up,  push-to-talk required (website sign up required)

We are mostly an age 30+ guild of experienced gamers and people with real lives. We don't rush through things, we help each other out with a "need before greed" mindset. Most of us are former/current or MMORGP vets and/or D&D PnP players as well. Voice chat is totally optional, many of us use it but its not required by any means. If we sound like your type of family, please contact us in game or by email para_bellum_wow@comcast.net
Basic Rules (if you don't fit in, maybe another home would be better)
1. Age.... generally we don't take people under 18. Relatives of existing members are an exception to this, but other exceptions can be made on an individual basis.

2. Honor... if you lack it, get lost. There is no tolerence for ninja looting, scamming, or any kind of deception toward guild members or the game community.

3. L337 d00dz.... please keep d00sp34k out of guild chat and if you know the game inside and out, that's great, but treat others with respect even if you know-it-all. Advice is one thing, but there is a line.

4. Beggars... DO NOT beg on public or guild channels. If you need something ASK on guild chat or even ask on general, but don't spam.

5. Day care... We are not baby sitters. Asking for help is fine, some elite quests require it, but you don't need high level people to walk you through everything.

6. Loyalty... if you plan to use us for what you can get & then ditch us, rest assured your actions and rep will follow you. No, this isn't a "you can never leave" rule, but be decent about it if you decide to.

Recruiting is Closed
Thursday, January 11, 2007 1:59 AM - submitted by Sarien    (0 Comments)

For the third time now this guild has helped another yet group of people, mainly complete newbs to the game, level up, educate them and guide them only to be discarded in the end. In light of having been ditched by "friends" :

1) that have came here with us from other games
2) people we've met in this game and helped to level from the beginning when they knew nothing
3) and most recently people I considered true friends (even tried to comfort through them their personal problems), known some in RL, and really had high hopes for raid wise

We are closing the doors to the recruitment office. God forbid I or my family gets sick and I can't be here to hand hold or if I play the beta a bit to get an idea where to lead the people in the expansion or maybe I just need a little break and take some time off from the game.

Apparently I took the wrong approach to running a guild. If we ever recruit again, maybe I should set gear requirements, time/day schedules, define talents specs and have people punch a "time clock" like most big guilds.

Guild loses 8 members!

So much for standing by your "friends". You'd think after all the support and friendship we offered them, her especially, we'd get a little more courtesy. It doesn't so much bother me that they left; its how they left.... again.

If you're going to leave for whatever reason, let me know. On the forum, email, even in game mail, they all work and are easily available. Leave us as friends, don't discard us like trash.

Guild Costs and Donations
Wednesday, November 15, 2006 3:18 AM - submitted by Sarien    (1 Comments)

Even though many people don't seem to use it yet, this guild website and our 60 person TeamSpeak server do cost money. If anyone is feeling particulary generous, they can submit a donation to help offset the costs. You can either be praised or anonymous, its up to you if you decide to help out. This is by NO means mandatory and we'll run the website and TS server the way it is as long as possible before being forced to reduce to "free status" with ads & bandwidth/capacity limits.

IRVINE, Calif. -- Blizzard Entertainment® today announced that the release date for World of Warcraft®: The Burning Crusade™, the highly anticipated expansion for World of Warcraft, will be in January 2007. By adding a few extra weeks to the development cycle beyond its original target date, Blizzard will be able to extend the closed beta test and further refine the new content that will ship with the game.

“We appreciate the enthusiasm surrounding World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, and we’re excited about putting the finishing touches on all of the new content,” said Mike Morhaime, president and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “We feel confident that the extra time spent polishing the game will result in the high-quality experience that our players expect and deserve.”

Blizzard began the closed-beta phase of testing on World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade earlier this month. The January 2007 release window will allow extra time for current beta testers to participate in the final stages of development and continue providing valuable feedback.

Further information on specific worldwide release dates, pricing, and other details will be announced in the near future.

  • World of Warcraft Accounts Closed Worldwide

    Posted by: Tyren| 10-12-06
    • In our continued efforts to combat cheating in World of Warcraft, more than 76,000 accounts were closed and 11 million gold was removed from the game economies in Europe, Korea, and the US in the month of September. The closed accounts were associated with activities that violate World of Warcraft's Terms of Use, such as using third-party programs that allow cheating, and farming gold and items. These types of activities can severely impact the economy of a realm and the overall game enjoyment for all players.

We will continue to aggressively monitor all World of Warcraft realms in order to protect the service and its players from the harmful effects of cheating. Please note that selling World of Warcraft content, such as gold, items, and characters, can result in a permanent ban of the involved accounts from World of Warcraft.

Many account closures come as the direct result of tips reported to our GMs in game or emailed to our Hacks Team by legitimate World of Warcraft players. If you suspect that a World of Warcraft player is using an illegal third-party program to farm gold or items, or is otherwise violating our Terms of Use, please report the suspected infraction via one of the means listed above. All reports will be investigated, and those that prove false will not result in corrective action.

As always, thank you for your continued support, and best of luck with your continued adventures in Azeroth!
