They have put together a great site over there with some interesting information.. Head on over and while you are there you may as well rate/review and vote! See you in game! /Killingfield
I just wanted to take a moment and welcome you to One Blood! My name
is Kerry (Killingfield) and I am the kinship leader. A little about
me: Originally from Oregon, I am 29 and soon to be 30 doh! I have been
married twice (first one was not gamer friendly!). I have now been
married for over three years to my wonderful wife who is a gaming fan
as well! I listen to rock and roll, BBQ, drink Coors light and cheap
margarita mix. Try to keep myself in shape with running and lifting.
I like riding quads and hitting the lake on the weekends. I am an
animal lover and I have a little military background..
I got my
start in online gaming way back in 1998 with Asheron's Call. I played
AC for over 3 years and with some of my closet friends. Those were the
good ol' days. No OMG l3tz R/\1D!!!...back then.. I was then
introduced to Anarchy Online by my wife and spent almost a year and a
half on RK2.. AO was such an advanced game with the skills, implants,
perks etc.. Just did not have a lot of content! Then came World of
Warcraft, you too huh..? We were on Uther and I admit, WoW had me for
a long time.. However, issues within my personal life and work forced
me to leave, thus leaving behind a lot of great people.. I tried going
back, but it just wasn't the same. I have a really good friend on
Uther, who I hope to bring over to LOTRO, we'll see hehe.. We recently
turned to Dungeons & Dragons Online and played on the Tharashk
server for a few weeks. DDO is not a *bad* game, but it had a
misearable start and it's numbers have suffered from it.. Hard to
build an online game that everyone will like based on a stringent
ruleset..
Then I remembered LOTRO was coming out soon - low and behold it's Open Beta Weekend!!! That brings us to here...
I
was a guild leader ages ago... I babysat those that needed it and
helped quite a few others better themselves as gamers. I've done high
end raid content and even designed a few persistent gaming worlds of my
own for Neverwinter Nights.
With all of the other guilds that I
have been in, I have always been left wanting more.. Better
leadership, the ability to make sound decisions and keep it fun! So I
thought what the hell..? I talked with my wife about it (always a good
idea, as they are smarter than we are!) and decided to start a kinship
on Silverlode!
My goal with One Blood is to build a small,
kickass gaming FAMILY that will stand up to the test of time. Not just
here on LOTRO, but whatever comes next! I want to look back five years
from now and know that we truly have something special on our hands! I
chose Silverlode based on the discussions and threads that are on the
official server forums. It seems like Silverlode is my kind of place.
A lot of old school, mature gamers that are not going to put up with a
lot of bullshit and drama. That's great because we are going to keep
that to a minimum!
I am not going to bore you with the rules and
regulations, because there really aren't any.. Just a feel simple
concepts to keep people headed in the right direction. I tried all of
that crap in the past and it's difficult to keep everyone abiding by
them, rules suck right! It's also a pain in the ass to write them out
and be regimented about it. So, not a lot of rules per say..
1. Have fun! That is why we are ALL here!
2. The Golden Rule always applies.. Think before you speak!
3. No racial or religious comments - I simply will not stand for it..
4.
No selling of items within the kinship - If you have something you
would rather sell, simply do not post it. If someone gives you
something, feel free to give them a little back. I just do not want to
see people saying "Taking offers on X" in guild chat.
5. Keep
issues within the kinship - If you have a problem with someone - Bring
it up to me and we will work it out. Do not slander other kinship
members in public.
6. Must be 18 years of age - There are possible exceptions based on interviews.
7. Lastly, as the leader of One Blood I will
not hesitate to tell you to STFU or boot you if you are acting like a
jackass. So act accordingly..
Naturally, we will refine these as time goes on...
On
the subject of Officers.. It certainly helps having a good group of
Officers, say 4-5 that really spread out the work load. So we will
have a couple of handpicked Officers. Having said that, I hate seeing
people spamming in general chat "Join my guild and you will be an
Officer!". That's bullshit in my opinion. If you are just looking to
be an Officer, you are at the wrong place. Officers are expected to
contribute more to the kinship, even sacrificing their personal time
for the benefit of the whole. That's what a leader does.. If you are
inclined to become an Officer and I feel that you have what it takes,
then we will discuss it..
So there you have it, One Blood, One
Family... I appreciate you taking the time to read our welcome thread
and I openly invite you to join me and the One Blood family for a
fantastic, zero stress, low drama gaming experience here on Silverlode!!
/Kerry "Killingfield/Blood"
