Old School KLA Video, from Loor
Hi everyone: I know that several people in the guild have, at various times, been hacked, myself included. Given that hacking accounts seems to be a systemic problem with WoW, I thought I'd let everyone know that Blizzard is selling a little gadget know as an authenticator: http://www.blizzard.com/store/details.xml?id=1100000182One of these doo-hickeys will essentially make your account unhackable (I use one at work), and they only cost $6.50. Of course, one could make the argument that Blizzard ought to be providing them to all members, but still, it seems a small price to pay. Mine is in the mail. Grim

Here is some information on raiding in WotLK, from Wowwiki
****************************************************
One exciting new feature in Wrath of the Lich King is that all raid content will be available as either a 10- or 25-person dungeon with completely independent progression paths. Both the 10- and 25-person versions will be the same dungeon; the look, layout, and design of the dungeon will remain the same. However, each will be adjusted, tuned, and balanced for its respective player size.
In Wrath of the Lich King, players can expect both 10- and 25-person raid progression paths to get increasingly difficult as they adventure to their final battle with Arthas. This new gameplay mechanic will allow more players to enjoy the raid content of Wrath of the Lich King in their preferred play style. Because it takes more effort to get 25 people together than it does for 10, players who participate in the 25-person raid progression path will receive higher quality and more loot than those who play the 10-person versions.
In addition, players will never be required to attune in a 10-person raid to progress to a 25-person raid in the progression path. Raid lockouts are same-size as well, so joining a 25-person raid for a dungeon will not lock a player out from the 10-person version of the same dungeon. This freedom of choice between raid-progression paths will let personal preference play a much bigger role in how players experience the raid content of Wrath of the Lich King.

Given this new set up, it might make good sense for us to think of ourselves as a 10-man raiding guild and build towards that goal. KLA, as it was back in March or April, would have been perfectly adequate.
At present, we have the following regular players: (1) Jefahl and alts; (2) Fritz and alts; (3) Relv and alts; (4) Sal and alts; (5) OC and alts; (6) Charina; (7) Cleotus and alts; (8) Grim and alts; (9) Dheede; and (10) Marta.
We're getting quite close to being able to put together a 10-man group again. I think this should be our primary goal. It seems that we should be able to do a lot in WotLK like that. Thoughts?

Welcome to the KLA.
The kittens are back.
Once upon a time, we were a top 30 raiding guild on this server, though a small and casual one. We dissolved the guild to do our separate things early in the summer; people took breaks, tried other games, etc. With the expansion pack coming up, we've decided to put the guild back together so that we have a fun family we can explore WotLK with.
So, let me say who we are, and who we aren't. Primarily, we're an end-game guild for adults. We accept players who are leveling, and we're always eager to jump on an alt and help out, but the emphasis in terms of guild activities is on level 70 content. We recognize some adults can be rather childish, and some kids pretty adult, so there's no age check. We ask that you be mature, courteous, and helpful to your guildies.
We're not a "serious" raiding guild. We may some day field a group of 25 with just guildies, we may not. We plan to have a lot of fun at the 5 and 10 man level, and build towards the larger raids in the expansion pack. We place our emphasis on developing a core group of skilled people, instead of being large with a lot of people coming and going.
We have members who do some PvP and RP, but mainly we're a PvE guild.
Our overriding goal in the time before the expansion pack comes out is to reestablish the health of the guild.
In the short-term (next few weeks), our goals are . . .
* to return KLA to raiding (Karazhan) by seeing to it that we have at least 10 active, skilled 70s.
* to recover the guild's old comraderie.
* to revamp the guild structure, so that it is ready to grow.
In the middle-term, our goals are . . .
* to reestablish a larger, but tightly knit, group of core players.
* to enter the expansion pack as strong as we were in April.
In the long-term, our goals are . . .
* to bring the guild to level 80.
* to build towards a group of 25 skilled 80s, if necessary by alliance.
* to see as much end-game WotLK content as we can.
Above all, we want to run a mature, but casual guild with the skills and people needed to do some raiding.
And we want to have fun.
(I don't want to kid anyone joining up. We have a lot of work to do. KLA is definitely a work in progress right now, so, if you do join, please be aware that we're rebuilding, and given how quiet the server is now, that may not happen over night. It would probably be ideal if you were excited about contributing to the rebuilding effort.)
