About: Brethil Company is a small Roleplaying kinship on the Landroval server of Lord of the Rings Online. Our focus is on Role-Playing and Questing. Please read our Charter, and let us know if you are interested in joining us! History: Brethil Company was formed on the shores of Long Lake as a small scouting party by three Mirkwood Elves and a Man of Dale. These were Rillas, Anorlaer, Anglir, and Feran. These four met on the shores of Long Lake to discuss their plans prior to departure. Many names were tossed about for something to call their Company, but none seemed appropriate. Rillas looked up at the birch tree they were sitting under, and it seemed to speak to her. Thus became Brethil Company, brethil being the Sindarin word for birch. The four traveled west to gather the news of the world and assist the Free People of Middle Earth. In Bree, they met a man named Corbie, who became the first Officer of the Company. As time passed, they recruited more people into the Company who shared their hopes for Middle-earth and her people. Kinship House: 2 Waterbank Road, Celethmar, Falathlorn

Have you checked out mylotro.com? Log in with your forums username and password and play around with your settings. Check out the Brethil Company kinship page! I'm not sure how often the character info updates (reload the page if you see ???'s), but I have found this pretty handy to see what one character is wearing when another is making stuff for them. You can also look up other characters and see what they're wearing and how your stats compare. The beta runs through the end of the year, so expect to see some improvements when it finally goes "live."
Brethil Company Ventures Into Moria
After months of waiting, wishing, and hoping for the day to arrive, on November 18th, 2008 Turbine officially released the first expansion of their widely-acclaimed hit Lord of the Rings Online Mines of Moria. It did not take long before Brethil Company arrived in force to pass their judgement upon the new areas, the expanded crafting system, as well as the level cap increase to 60.
What does all this mean for Brethil Company? Not only do we as a kinship have a renewed sense of exploration and teamwork, we also are redoubling our efforts to recruit new members. It's worth stating again that if you are looking for a casual kinship that enjoys working together and helping one another, feel free to contact any member of Brethil Company.
We look forward to seeing you all in the expansion!
A Mention On mmoRPers.com
Lord of the Rings Online – Server Spotlight - Landroval"There are several reoccurring weekly events where friendships are built and conversations are shared over a pint of ale. Some weekly favorites include “Open Hours at the Broken Casket” in which players are invited to join the community for open rolepay and the Sunday morning “Brethil Company Breakfast” whose name speaks for itself."Yay, us! Ok, let's not get big heads now ;) *backs away into obscurity again*
Two New Members Of The Company!
Sunday, September 14, 2008 12:01 PM - submitted by Rillas
At our weekly Sunday Breakfast today, we were joined by two applicants to the Company, Lyssalas and Hildiard. Lyssalas is the twin brother of Lyssaras, long time friend of Brethil Company, and neighbor to Rillas. Hildiard is a Hobbit, just beginning his travels, but apparently quite knowledgable. Both were accepted into the Company by Rillas, Alduran, and Holo.

After breakfast, Alduran departed on some errands, and the rest of the group travelled to Bree and the Southern Barrow Downs, where they slew many of the evil trees lurking at the edge of the Old Forest. Lyssalas and Hildiard both proved themselves welcome additions to the Company.
A Fellowship To Complete Book 3
Ordinred, Holo, Holdor, and Fehwyn met at the Kinship House on Saturday evening, and soon departed for Esteldin to assist Halbarad in gathering the races together for a meeting. They rescued Dori from his captors near Othrikar, fought off orcs in Trestlebridge, and faced down Drukordh and his guards in Nan Wathren. According to Fehwyn, everyone fought well and bravely. And congratulations to Ordinred on reaching level 31 in the process! Well done, kin!
L-R: Holdor, Fehwyn, Holo, and OrdinredThe evening ended in Rivendell, where everyone relaxed for a while before turning in for the night. Perhaps Book IV will be next?
Thanks to a generous donation from Corbie (who, unfortunately, is leaving LOTRO), I was finally able to purchase our Kinship House this evening. Ordinred was the first to use the new Travel to Kinship House skill, and also made a much-appreciated donation toward the house.
The decorating is barely begun - I have a lot of shopping and crafting to do for that. I only purchased the first house chest. If anyone cares to purchase chests two and three, feel free, or I will get them as finances permit.
Enjoy the Kinship House everyone!!!!
Landroval Recruitment Faire A Success For Brethil Company!
Rillas, Alduran and Ordinred were able to participate in June's Recruitment Faire at the Bree Fairgrounds today. With plenty of new players out and about, we were able to represent the Company properly and as such, we welcomed two new members into our ranks.
Brethil Company would like to give a warm welcome to Atiya and Oggain.
Lothron Mereth A Rousing Success!
Happy Memorial Day 2008! Our fearless leader Rillas decided to host a "May Feast" party this evening, and we had quite a turnout! Numerous guests included our own Brethil Company regulars, a performance from Pillagers of Pipeweed, and a few visitors from various kinships. There was lots of food, even more drink, and music enough to last us well into the Late Watches! Unfortunately, it was at this feast that we also said "Farewell" to one of our kinship members. Aylwyn, our resident Loremaster is headed overseas in the defense of our country. Were it not for servicemembers like her, we would never have the opportunity to enjoy the freedoms we have today. Drop her a message wishing her "Safe travels" until her return. Best of luck to Aylwyn, from all of us here at Brethil Company!
The Wedding Of Olrandir And Eowulia
Tuesday, May 20, 2008 9:43 AM - submitted by Rillas
This past Sunday, I was blessed with an invitation to attend a very special private ceremony. Olrandir met me at my house, and led me down to the small pavillion near the river in Celethmar. We were soon joined by Eowulia, her grand-daughter Casandir, Lyssaras, and Vyktor. It was then that Olrandir made the purpose of the gathering clear - he and Eowulia would be exchanging vows and tokens of marriage.
Facing the camera, from left to right, are Lyssaras, Rillas, Casandir, and Vyktor. Olrandir and Eowulia are addressing the small wedding party. The couple exchanged moving vows in Sindarin, with translations for the Man present. Olrandir presented his bride with a ring, and she in turn gave to him a pendant she had been wearing.
The bride and groom speak their vows.Following the ceremony, a reception was held in my home, and we were joined by Aylwyn, who was just as surprised as the rest of us to learn of the unannounced wedding. Please join me in congratulating the newlyweds; may their marriage be joyous and blessed!
The Charter has been updated, but remains a work-in-progress. Please let me know if anything can be worded better/differently, or if anything has been left out.
